Forelands Field School

The school wanted to take advantage of Salix funding to install a solar PV system to reduce their electrical costs. ESS Group designed and installed a 100kWp Solaredge optimised system on their flat roof. The system was specified for the additional safety aspects offered by the DC optimiser architecture and its ability to detect faults and isolate the system at panel level. It was also the best choice to manage the many shading obstacles present on the roof. ESS Group arranged for the roof to be cleaned before installation as well as adaptations to the existing handrail and final reconfiguration of the lightning protection system.

A remote monitoring system combined with a display screen fitted in the Reception area shows the system performance and accumulated CO2 savings in real time.
